Privacy policy

Hourwyn is operated by weneedit, a sole proprietorship based in the Republic of Korea. Postal address: 6F 602-dong 390-ho, 103 Misagangbyeonnam-ro, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do 12913, Republic of Korea.

For any privacy question or request, email works.weneedit@gmail.com. We reply within 1 business day.

• Account details: your email address. If you choose a password, our sign-in provider keeps it in scrambled form and we never see it. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture.
• Details for your report: first name, email address, birth date, birth time (optional) and birth place.
• Partner details: for a Compatibility Report, the other person's first name, birth date, birth time (optional) and birth place. You confirm that you have their permission before you enter them.
• Order information: what you bought, when you bought it and the payment status. We never receive or store your card number.
• Support messages: what you send us through the Help page or by email.
• Feedback: the thumbs up or thumbs down you give on sections of a report.
• Device and log data: basic technical information, such as your browser type, IP address and the time of your visit.
• Cookies and similar browser storage, described in the Cookies section below.

We collect most of this directly from you. Payment status comes from Dodo Payments, the reseller that takes your payment.

We use personal information for these purposes only:

• To provide what you asked for: calculating the chart, writing and delivering your report, signing you in, and answering support requests.
• To keep the tax and accounting records the law requires.
• To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the site secure.
• To improve the product, using feedback in combined form that does not identify you.
• To send you marketing email, only if you asked for it. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
• To measure our advertising, only if you allow it in the cookie notice.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not make automated decisions about you that have a legal or similarly significant effect. We do not use the content of your report for advertising, and we send no health information to anyone.

Your chart is calculated by software from astronomical data. The text of your report is then generated by an AI language model and checked automatically.

To generate the text, we send our AI text provider the calculated chart data and the first names used in the report. We do not send your email address or any payment data.

We share personal information only with the companies that help us run Hourwyn, and only what each one needs for its job:

• Our reseller, Dodo Payments. It is the merchant of record for your order: it collects your payment details and billing country itself, under its own privacy policy (dodopayments.com/legal/privacy-policy), and handles any sales tax. It tells us that you paid, your email address and what you bought. We never receive your card number.
• A cloud hosting, database and sign-in provider, Google.
• An AI text provider, Anthropic. It receives chart data and first names, not your email address or payment data.
• An email delivery provider, Resend, for messages such as the link to your report.
• An advertising platform, Meta, for advertising measurement, and only if you have allowed it.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to a tax authority or a court.

We do not share your personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.

Your information is stored and processed in the United States, on Google Cloud servers.

We run Hourwyn from the Republic of Korea, so we look at it from there when we answer a support request or handle an order.

• Charts and reports: kept so that you can reread them, until you ask us to delete them.
• Deletion requests: completed within 30 days of your request.
• Payment and tax records: kept for as long as the law requires, even after a deletion request.
• Support messages: kept for up to 2 years.

Whichever state you live in, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
• correct information that is wrong
• delete your information
• stop sending you marketing email
• leave advertising measurement off, or turn it off again

To make a request, open the Settings tab of your account, where you can download or delete your data and change your email and cookie choices. You can also email works.weneedit@gmail.com. We reply within 1 business day and may ask you to confirm who you are first. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

Several US states have privacy laws that give their residents specific rights. Hourwyn is smaller than the size at which most of those laws apply, but we honor the requests above for everyone.

Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information as Nevada law defines it. You can still send a do-not-sell request to works.weneedit@gmail.com.

California residents: we do not share personal information with other companies for their direct marketing (California Civil Code section 1798.83).

If someone else entered your birth details for a report and you want them removed, email us and we will delete them.

We use cookies and similar storage in your browser for two things only.

• Storage the site needs to work: your cart, your sign-in and your answer to the cookie notice. It is always on.
• Advertising measurement: the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. If you allow them, they tell Meta about your visit and any purchase, so that we can see which ads bring people here. They stay off until you allow them, and we never send Meta what you type into a form.

You choose in the notice on your first visit, and we ask again about every six months. You can change your answer at any time with the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page or in the Settings tab of your account.

Browser signals: if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a "no" to advertising measurement and do not ask. We do not respond to the older Do Not Track setting, because there is no agreed standard for what it means.

Other companies: if you allow advertising measurement, Meta may collect information about your activity on this site over time and combine it with your activity on other sites. If you do not allow it, no other company collects information about your activity here.

We use no other trackers.

Hourwyn is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email works.weneedit@gmail.com and we will delete it.

We may update this policy when our service or the law changes. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects how we use your information in an important way, we will post a notice on the site or email you before it takes effect.
