Free birth chart vs paid report: what is the difference?
By the Hourwyn team
A free birth chart gives you the data: the wheel, the sign and house of each planet, and the list of aspects. A paid report is the written interpretation of that data, usually 20 to 30 pages. On Hourwyn the chart is free with an account, and the Personality Report is a single payment of $19 with no subscription.
What you get at each step

The bundle is the Personality Report and the Compatibility Report bought together, for $7 less than the two separately. Prices are in US dollars. Details are on the reports page.
Is a paid report worth it?
It depends on what you want. If you enjoy working things out yourself, the free chart and a guide to reading it may be all you need. A report saves that work: it reads the placements together and writes up what an astrologer would make of them. Read a sample before you decide. We publish 4 full ones, including a Personality Report and a Compatibility Report, exactly as a customer receives them.
What to check before paying for any birth chart report
- One payment or a subscription? Look for the renewal terms before you enter a card.
- How does it treat a missing birth time? A careful report leaves the houses out. A careless one draws them anyway.
- Does it say how the chart was calculated? House system, zodiac and orbs should be stated.
- Does it show its evidence? Each statement should name the placement behind it.
- Who or what wrote it? An astrologer, fixed template text, or AI. Any of these can be fine. Hiding it is not.
- Can you read a full sample? A few lines of preview tell you little.
- What is the refund policy? Read it before you pay.
How our reports are made
The chart is calculated by astronomy software. An AI language model then writes the report from that calculated data and our interpretation notes, and each chapter is checked automatically against the chart. A chapter that cites something your chart does not contain is rejected and rewritten. Reports are for entertainment and make no forecasts. See can ChatGPT read your birth chart for why the calculation and the writing are kept apart.
A written report vs a session with an astrologer
A session with an astrologer is a live conversation. The astrologer can ask you questions and follow what interests you, and sessions are usually priced by the hour. A written report is a document made from your chart data and delivered in about a minute. Hourwyn sells written reports only. No astrologer reviews your chart, and we do not offer sessions.
Delivery and refunds
- The report opens in your browser about a minute after payment, and a link is emailed to you.
- It stays in your account, and you can print it or save it as a PDF.
- Birth details cannot be changed after purchase, and a birth time cannot be added later.
- A technical fault or a wrong chart on our side is refunded in full. A sale is final once the report is delivered. The full terms are in the refund policy.
